Skilled worker in multiple trades
Expected to possess an array of construction skills described in the below Duties and Responsibilities.
Pay/ Benefits: Based Upon skill level.
Purpose of Position: To perform a variety of skilled rough and finish carpentry scopes including millwork, demo, metal siding, and other tasks required to either repair, alter, construct or reconstruct buildings and structures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled carpentry work in the maintenance, repair, alteration and construction of buildings, facilities, structures and equipment; assure compliance with building, health and safety codes, and standards.
- Construct, frame, finish, maintain and repair various items and woodwork such as partitions, cabinets, doors, shelving, furniture, countertops, tables, decks, stairways, cases.
- Plan, organize and layout assigned construction jobs; interpret plans, diagrams, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders.
- Operate and maintain a variety of carpentry equipment including saws, shapers, routers, drills, grinders and various hand and power tools used in the trade.
- Drive a vehicle to and from work sites, suppliers and contractors.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a punctual and consistent attendance.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Indoor and outdoor work environments; working on ladders or scaffolding; working in or around dust, vapors and fumes, debris or nails; working around clients. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand and power tools; bending at the waist, kneeling, crouching, or reaching above the head to store, retrieve or affix materials; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to perform skilled work and read blueprints, drawings or diagrams; lifting and carrying heavy equipment or materials. Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, methods, and equipment of the various trades required.
- Skill in using tools and materials required by the applicable trade. (Operation and use of power tools and hand tools.
- Carpentry work in maintenance, repair, alteration and construction of buildings, facilities, structures and equipment.
- Trade tools, equipment, materials, methods and techniques used in skilled carpentry and painting work; working knowledge of safety practices and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, sketches, manuals, or work orders.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Ability to work safely and productively.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers, architects, vendors and suppliers; work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Have basic management and people skills.
- Maintain simple and concise records and prepare accurate reports.
Other:
- Perform repairs on drywall, paint, doors, locks and hardware.
- Perform mechanical, lighting and plumbing repairs.
- Complete testing of Facilities equipment like generators and fire protection systems.
- Install and configure modular workstations.
- Manage vendor projects.
Education, Training and Experience:
At least (2) years of journey-level carpentry experience in multiple trades, and sufficient experience/training of the outline skills. Education is not as important as skill.
Additional Requirements:
Valid Texas driver’s license
Experience:
- Journeyman: 2 years (Preferred)
